What is THE Sacral CHAKRA?
The Sacral Chakra is the second chakra located in the lower abdomen behind the navel. Its color is orange and its element is water.
Sacral Chakra – Svadhisthana or Swadhisthana means “one’s own abode” and refers to that place deep within where one feels nurtured and accepted. The Central site of the Svadhisthana Chakra is a six-petaled lotus flower, orange in color. These six petals are associated with the element of water and sensuality, sexuality, pleasure, sociability, and emotions. The mantra used to awaken the Sacral Chakra from its slumber is “I feel”.
The Sacral Chakra is all about creativity, pleasure, and sexuality – not just the physical act of sex – but any creative activity that brings you joy. It’s also about having fun! Learn to play more and take time to enjoy all the simple pleasures in life. This will enhance your creativity as well as your sense of self-confidence.
How Svadhisthana Chakras Get Blocked
There are many ways the sacral chakra can get blocked. It may be due to emotional pain or trauma, such as anger, resentment, or fear. It can also be blocked if we do not feel safe in our lives or if we do not trust our intuition. If we are not relaxed in our bodies, this can also block the flow of energy through the sacral chakra.
The sacral chakra is associated with the element of water. The water element represents our flow of emotions, as well as our ability to change and adapt to life’s experiences. If the Sacral chakra gets blocked it means that we are having difficulty expressing ourselves emotionally, tapping into our creativity, or experiencing pleasure in life.
If you feel you lack creativity or have been experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety, these symptoms may be telling you that your sacral chakra is blocked.
What Chakras Do
There are seven main chakras in the human body, and each is associated with specific bodily functions and attributes. The original Sanskrit names of the chakras are listed below, along with a brief description of what each chakra is responsible for.
1st Chakra – Muladhara or Root Chakra – This chakra is located at the base of the spine and is responsible for our survival instincts and feelings of safety and security.
2nd Chakra – Svadhisthana or Sacral Chakra – This chakra is located in the lower abdomen and is responsible for creativity, pleasure, and sexuality.
3rd Chakra – Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra – This chakra is located in the upper abdomen and is responsible for our personal power (willpower, self-discipline), identity, and ego.
4th Chakra – Anahata or Heart Chakra – This chakra is located just to the left of the center of the chest and is responsible for love, compassion, kindness, healing, acceptance, trust in life.
5th Chakra – Vishuddha or Throat Chaka – This chakra is located in the throat area and is responsible for our ability to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally.
6th Chakra – Ajna or Brow/Third Eye Chakra – This chakra is located between the eyebrows and slightly up towards the forehead and is responsible for intuition, insight, psychic abilities, meditation.
7th Chakra – Sahasrara or Crown Chakra – This chakra is located on the crown of the head and is responsible for our spiritual connection with all things as well as peace and understanding.
Unblocking Your Svadhisthana Chakras
There are many ways to unblock the sacral chakra. One of the most important things you can do is learn to relax and have fun! If you’re stuck in a cycle of stress, anxiety, fatigue, depression etc. it will be extremely difficult for energy to flow through this area of your body. In order to feel truly happy and fulfilled in life, you must learn to relax and let go of stress.
Furthermore, it’s important for you to tap into your creativity which is associated with the sacral chakra. In order to do this, you can practice something that you enjoy such as painting or sculpting or write in a journal every day. You may also want to try practicing meditation or yoga since these can help you to relax and tap into your creativity.
How Do You Heal Your 2nd Chakra?
Healing your second chakra is about learning to let go of stress in life, relaxing in your body and in the world, and tapping into the creative side of yourself. It may feel uncomfortable to open up to creativity if you’ve been shutting it down for many years, but this is how you will begin to heal this energy center.
Once you begin to relax and open up more in your body, you’ll find that it’s easier for you to connect with pleasure, sensuality, and sexuality. This is also a sign that your sacral chakra is beginning to heal.
You may want to get in touch with your own creativity such as through painting or writing in a journal. While these creative outlets may seem to be very simple, they can actually help you heal and unblock your second chakra. You can also try practicing yoga or meditation since these activities can greatly help you relax and tap into the subtle energy of the sacral chakra.
If you feel that there is a blockage in your creative pursuits, a great way to release this energy is through practicing art of some kind. There are many different types of artistic expression that you can try such as painting, sculpting, singing, dancing etc. Ultimately, the most important thing is that you do something that you love!
How to bring the Svadhisthana Chakra into balance
First and foremost, you must work on healing and unblocking your sacral chakra. Once this center is free-flowing again, it will be much easier for you to attract new opportunities into your life that will balance the energy of the 2nd chakra.
If you’re currently experiencing depression or anxiety in your life, these emotions can prevent the energy in your sacral chakra from flowing freely. The best way to work on this is through exercising regularly, meditating, and following a healthy diet that is free of processed foods.
If you’re looking to attract new opportunities into your life, it’s important for you to learn how to relax in the world. When many people are stressed, they don’t even realize it because they’re so used to their constant state of stress.

When you’re looking to heal and balance the energy in your sacral chakra, there are many different affirmations that you can repeat to yourself. In general, it’s a good idea for you to meditate on these different affirmations as often as possible – preferably every day.
You may also want to keep these affirmations in mind as you go throughout your day. You can repeat them silently in your head or say them out loud if that feels more comfortable for you.
Make Your Svadhisthana Affirmations More Powerful
Affirmations can be more powerful when they are personal and specific to you. So, it’s important for you to come up with your own affirmations that resonate with your own experience.
When you create your own affirmations, make sure that they are positive, present-tense statements that you truly believe. For example, “I am open to new opportunities that balance my energy” is a great affirmation for the sacral chakra.
You may also want to try writing your affirmations down and repeating them out loud every day. This will help imprint these positive thoughts and beliefs into your subconscious mind.
A great way to practice affirmations is by repeating them every morning and night. Make it a habit and soon enough, you’ll find that these powerful words will begin to change your life.
